Honda Has Manufactured 2.7 Million Transmissions in Georgia

Last month (June 2016), Honda associates were mingling with members of the local community in Tallapoosa, Georgia at the 10th anniversary celebration of Honda Precision Parts of Georgia, LLC (HPPG). The facility opened in 2006, with a staff of 179, manufacturing the old five-speed automatic transmissions.

In 2012, HPPG upgraded, and began producing the newer six-speed transmissions found in models like Honda Odyssey, Pilot, and Ridgeline.

Currently, the Georgia-based plant employs 500 associates, and has an annual capacity to build 375,000 transmissions. To-date, around...
