How do you most like to give back in your community? Do you donate money or goods, maybe helping out at a local craft bazaar or bake sale? Do you prefer to “get your hands dirty,” and help organize items for the local food shelf? Or do you write grants, knock on doors or stamp and mail out appeal letters? Whatever way you give back, nonprofits are lucky to have your help. But you’re lucky as well. There is a great feeling that we get when we give. Just ask the thousands of Team Honda volunteers who made a difference in communities across the country last month. These folks—approximately 16,000 volunteers—collected trash, organized food at food pantries, helped animals at shelters, or refurbished homes in low-income areas.
For a bit of Honda-related history: Honda Week of Service coincides with the Honda’s Founder Day in North America, which originally took place on June 11, 1959.
