Honda Ridgeline vs Toyota Tacoma

680 × 250

Finding the right vehicle for your adventurous lifestyle isn't as easy as it seems.

You need something that's versatile enough to take you to and from work without draining your fuel budget, something that's capable enough to travel in any weather, over any terrain, and something that can let you tackle weekend projects without needing three people to wrestle a side table into the back of your neighbor's wagon.

A small pickup truck can fit the bill--but getting the right one means digging deep into prices, features, and performance. Two of the most popular options in Concord are the new 2019 Honda Ridgeline and the new 2019 Toyota Tacoma.

Compare these two competitive new small trucks here, or visit Honda of Concord to get a better look at the new 2019 Ridgeline.

Performance: Ridgeline vs Tacoma

The practical-to-a-fault Tacoma comes equipped with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine on all of its entry-level trims. This engine is only good for about 180 pound-feet of torque and 159 horsepower--not much. It offers available four-wheel drive. The 2019 Honda Ridgeline, meanwhile, gives you a 3.5-liter V6 engine, good for 262 pound-feet of torque and 280 horsepower, standard on every model.

Price: Ridgeline vs Tacoma

The 2019 Honda Ridgeline starts at $29,990* and comes with an exciting list of standard features, including a more-powerful engine. The 2019 Toyota Tacoma starts at $25,550, with its four-cylinder under the hood and a lack of many modern features.

Features: Ridgeline vs Tacoma

The Tacoma does give you a standard GoPro mount--but, if you don't already have a GoPro, that's not all that helpful. The 2019 Honda Ridgeline, in comparison, offers truck features like a lockable compartment in the bed that's built right in, waterproof, and can be drained. A dual-action tailgate is a Ridgeline classic, and can be opened down like usual, or out to the side for convenient loading and unloading. An in-bed stereo system is redefining the tailgate. Now those are features.
