Today, it's hard to imagine a modern automotive world where Honda didn't sell cars in America. At the time, forging into the market was a huge risk, and one that required a lot of trial and error. However, Honda went about it with the right attitude, which is how the N600 was born, eventually evolving into the Civic we know and love.

Developed alongside the Japanese-market N360, the N600 was the first-ever Honda model to be sold in America. What set it apart from its sibling was its larger, more powerful engine and technological advances. These included a 9,000 rpm, 600cc two-cylinder with a 77 mph top speed. With peppy performance that was surprising for its time, it built a fantastic foundation on which the Civic eventually capitalized.
