Honda of Concord

In a recent Honda of Concord blog post, we mentioned that a fleet of Honda Fit EV tester models were released in China to gather data on electric vehicle driving. Now, we have great news for those in the Concord area and beyond. The 2013 Fit EV has been spotted within our U.S. walls, several times actually. First the Fit variant debuted at the L.A. auto show back in November. Most recently, it made an appearance at Tokyo's pre-show event where auto aficionados where given a behind-the-wheel taste of the model's innovation.

We at Honda of Concord are glad to see so many automakers moving forward with green-technology. However, there is always backlash when it comes to rapid advancements. In the case of electric vehicles, many aren't completely convinced. That is part of the reason Honda has released an entire fleet of EV testers onto the streets of China.

It's easy to tell that Honda is interested in pushing green technology forward with models such as the Honda Civic hybrid and natural gas. However, you may not realize that the buildings in which these new Honda vehicles are manufactured are environmentally sustainable as well. With a total of eleven, "green-certified" plants, the automaker comes out ahead of all other companies in the industry.

Honda profits jumped to huge numbers during 2011, but the Japanese auto maker has received another great honor - Greenest Auto Maker. Beleive it or not, this isn't the first time Honda has received the award, in fact this is the 5th straight year Honda has become Greenest Automaker. Since 1988, Honda has sold the Civic GX as a natural gas powered car, according to Green Car Report.¹
