Honda Increases Safety for 2013 Lineup
Planning on financing a new Honda vehicle in 2013? If so, you're in luck. Honda is about to make some serious changes in the realm of safety and the coming model year's lineup will be the first to feel the effects.
At this point in time, visibility-enhancing features such as rearview cameras are reserved largely for premium models. The only problem is that safety shouldn't have to come at a cost that the average consumer can't afford. It seems as though that's our favorite automaker's view as well. Honda just announced that it will make the innovative safety technology available for over 94 percent of its 2013 lineup. Those models include the Honda Crosstour, Honda Pilot, and more.
Regarding the automaker's decision, Vicki Poponi, Assistant Vice President of Product Planning, explains, "At Honda, we feel that this visibility feature will be important to many families and we're widely applying it even before we may be required to do so."1
In other words, Poponi is saying that Honda is staying one step ahead of the game. On top of making rearview cameras widely available, the automaker will add other safety technology options such as Forward Collision Warning and Lane Departure Warning to its 2013 Honda lineup.
